How to get your brick and mortar business Online

Earning online, selling and buying or even doing anything online has been a taboo for many. However, with technology evolving and the internet becoming omnipresent across all corners of the globe, the advantages that it brings cannot be ignored. Like the radio in the 60’s, the cassette player and the TV of the 70’s which had gone on to become necessities instead of luxuries, the internet has become an inherent part of our life, whether one likes it or not.

Being a small business owner or even a large corporation, can you afford to ignore the phenomenon? Having an online business or taking your existing business online is highly affordable and easy. Have you given it some serious thought?

You could even take a look at your competition fairly and squarely, almost all of them are already selling on the web or are in the process of setting up their web businesses. The major advantage of selling your wares online is that you are immune to economic changes. For example, if you are a small business person manufacturing “product x” in the USA, it is possible that you have also been affected by the downturn in the economy in the last 4 – 5 years. Of course you can blame it on the presidency;or blame it on the market or your competitors. The truth is your difficulties had to be faced. Conversely, if you were selling online, you would be selling to many different economies of the world of which many were doing well. So, you even out your business when you are selling to a global audience which means you get to have multiple streams of income from the same business.

Having an online business has its own set of varied advantages. To name but a few…you dont have to maintain a physical office or location other than your home office. In fact your website is your main office. You do not need to part with a huge capital outlay as compared to a traditional brick and mortar business. You can choose your own hours to run your business instead of 9am to 5pm. You can spend more time with your family and you can manage your business from any corner of the world which means you can be on a holiday and sell stuff from the Tasman beaches. With so many advantages, why not opt for an online business.

Now, coming to having an online business, how should one go about it? Many would advocate building a website, marketing the same and SEO’ing it and so on and so forth. I too am a small business owner based in New Zealand and have been there and done that. However, not all of us are used to the web and the intricacies of how it works, not to mention the fact that we do not know how to sell to such a varied audience. A marketing line that sells to my neighbor may not do so to yours. So, I opted for an online business called Carbon CopyPRO. Carbon CopyPRO is an integrated web marketing system that teaches you first about the internet and its marketing techniques. Next, it takes it one step ahead and helps you sell your products online, yes it is called selling on auto-pilot.

About Howard Mahere

I'm an entrepreneur ; motivator; author of "AN IMMIGRANT WITH A PLAN" and a John C Maxwell certified speaker . Happily married to Emely and a father to one son and two daughters. My greatest joy comes from inspiring others to maximize their potential. I feel fulfilled when I bring hope to the hopeless and encouragement to the discouraged. The truth is, we each have a past, and it's either our prison, our excuse OR our springboard to a brighter future. The choice is yours but as for me, I made up my mind a long time ago to use my dysfunctional tough childhood as a stepping stone . The late Zig Ziglar used to say "It's not what happens to you that determines how far you will go in life, it is how you handle what happens to you." This is my story and I am sticking to it!
